CACAO CEREMONY
Cacao is a sacred, heart-opening plant medicine that works in deep relationship with Pachamama—Mother Earth, carrying Her wisdom, nourishment, and grounding energy through every bean. Honored for centuries by Indigenous cultures of Central and South America, cacao has long been revered as a divine gift—used in ceremony, healing, and moments of deep decision-making. Among the Mayans and other ancient civilizations, cacao was held as sacred, often reserved for royalty and spiritual leaders, regarded as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds.
In Sacred Loon cacao ceremonies, Mama Cacao and Pachamama are honored as a gentle yet powerful allies in the healing journey. These ceremonies are guided through ancestral wisdom and shamanic practice, creating a sacred container for connection, intention, and remembrance. Heidi Evelyn first remembered how to facilitate sacred cacao through Celtic Shamanic ancestors and tradition. Then continued to learn how to facilitate cacao ceremonies through the ancient Indigenous traditions of Peru’s Asháninka people, where cacao is honored as a living spirit and sacred teacher. She later deepened this work through hands-on experience with the Bribri Tribe of Costa Rica, learning the traditional process of crafting cacao from tree to cup, honoring the land, the people, and the spirit of the plant.
Beyond its ceremonial roots, cacao offers profound health and wellness benefits, supporting both the body and the nervous system. Ceremonial-grade cacao is rich in antioxidants, magnesium, iron, and heart-supportive compounds that encourage healthy circulation. What to Expect from a Sacred Loon Cacao Ceremony
Sacred Loon cacao ceremonies last 1.5–3 hours and are held in a sacred circle centered around an altar. Guests are invited to bring a meaningful item to place on the altar for blessing during the ceremony.
Ceremonial cacao is mindfully prepared and shared, honoring Mama Cacao and Pachamama, fostering connection to self, community, and the Earth. The experience is supported using Celtic Shamanism with drumming, welcoming guides and ancestors. Music, sound, and a specially crafted meditation oil used during the ceremony to deepen grounding, heart opening, and sensory awareness.
Each ceremony includes oracle card guidance and the use of heart-centered cacao journals, or prompts, authored by Heidi Evelyn, supporting reflection and integration.
