Heidi Evelyn

OWNER AND ROOTS OF SACRED LOON

Biindigeg! (pronounced Bee-in-di-gen). In Anishinaabe, or Ojibwe, this is a greeting of Welcome.

Welcome to Sacred Loon. I am Sacred Loon, or better known as Heidi Evelyn. My life journey has led me to helping others and after my best friend and brother in arms, crossed over to Valhalla by his own hand, Sacred Loon began in his honor. While in this life he expressed I needed to share my gifts with others, on their healing journey. So in 2024 I crafted Sacred Loon into a small business in guiding others on their healing journey.

I have a great love and connection with Mother Earth, Honor for my ancestors, and those that are on the other side guiding and protecting. In my family tree, there are branches of Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) Healers and Celtic Healers (shamans); also Scottish and Germanic Healers (aka witches). The healing path chose me, to continue traditions and ritual; guiding others to remembering their soul path, bringing them closer to Mother Earth.

My earliest memory of being with plants was at age 4. I would gather flowers and other plants, while carrying a cup of water. I sat in the middle of a field next to our home, and pulled the stems in strands allowing them to curl in the water, then adding the blossoms to make a “soup” or “potion.” Buttercup and Indian Paintbrush flowers still hold a special place in my heart. I have learned plants, medicine, herbs and gardening not only from those that raised me, but also from others in my life journey.

I have always had a love of serving and helping others. Changing my education/career path from music performance, in fiddle and Celtic at UW-Superior, Culinary school and then Paramedic school, I served in the United States Army with a MOS of Combat Medic for 6 years. The military put me through Nursing school, where I then worked for some years as a charge RN.

I hit a burnout, and became sick with an autoimmune disease and spinal injuries. Western medicine was not working for my mind, body and soul. Finally turning to Mother Earth, and old traditions, I took charge of my health, teaching yoga, learning Reiki, and turning to herbalism. Also embracing the healers path of Energy Work and Shamanism merging both Native American and Celtic traditions.

Life is a journey of remembering and learning. I will forever be a student and love to learn at the wisdom of others feet. My goal for Sacred Loon, is to keep old traditions alive, listen to Mother Earth and teach what She provides for our healing. To be a guide for others on their life journey, whether through sacred plants, energy healing, or a guide to heal ancestral wounds. Once one knows where branched in their family tree, one can find the soul’s roots, healing and purpose in this life; becoming rooted with Mother Earth and Nurturing with Nature.
